The end is within sight, ladies and gentlemen. I have made my last appointment at the weight loss center I am going to and after that will be on my own. They said that I was one of the more successful patients of the year so far and that they would like to share my blog a bit with other patients. I obliged since I think motivation for anyone is a huge help, and seeing other results from other people is a great way to gain that motivation. This is no exception, and I hope that anyone else that reads this blog will definitely be encouraged to get out there, lose weight, and be committed. It’s how you lose and look better and it is worth every sacrificed calorie (not that it’s really a problem, anyway).
I also got in my b and m shifter today. It looks great and definitely is going to be nice on the track. I will probably run my quarter mile time in the next few days. Over the last week or so, I upgraded the air intake (custom made), put in a boost-like product running 8 PSI, and did a few other choice mods that should have this thing ripping up the track. I’m hoping for a 13.XX second quarter mile, but that’s something I would normally run on the vette.

Nelson: The Next Jackie Chan?!
Yes, I have finally resorted to recording tenth value digits for my weight loss. I just realized that as I was reading my last post on here. Some call it desperation, but to be honest, it’s just a way to keep track of my success and keep me motivated. Since the last time I wrote I have last about another 2.4 pounds, from what my scale says. That places me at…oh…about 175.6 for the total time I have been on the diet. I think it’s going to wrap up nicely if I keep losing about this much. I am going to start looking at some aerobics classes or a martial art that I can take up once I am done with the diet and can start very rigorous exercise again. I’m pretty much vowing to myself that I will never again look like I did when I started the diet, so I just need to find a couple sports that I can take up that will help keep the weight off and me looking great! I’m thinking about Tae Kwon Do right now since it is classified as a really wonderful beginner martial art and I am fairly old for starting something like this so late in my adulthood. I’ve heard stranger things, though, so I’m not too worried about it. It should go over fairly well if I stay committed and stick with it. Cya all!

More weight loss and car work...
Apparently I really did lose about .8 pounds because now the scale says I have lost another 3 pounds on top of what I lost last time. That brings me to right about 178 pounds even. I feel great and I finally broke down and bought a few more clothes to wear until I am down a few more pounds, which shouldn’t be too much of a problem. It was great though, I walked into a client’s office the other day and his secretary asked me what happened to me! Ha! I could get used to this new look.
I also got the mounts on my car replaced, too. It took a couple hours because I was feeling lazy and had electronics hub (a few powerful computers, code readers, electrical analysis machines, etc) on and was surfing the web instead of thinking about diagnostics. Can you tell I like my cars and my weight loss quite a bit at the moment? I’m throwing a short shifter (b and m) in the car tomorrow if I can find time to do it, but right now I am working 7-4 everyday. Spring is here and it’s kicking up some big business at the moment.

Vacation Plan?
Might as well post another blog entry tonight while I am not too busy. Scale says I have lost 0.8 pounds, but I am pretty sure it wasn’t quite that much. I am still following the diet protocols exactly as it says I am supposed to follow them, but I think the end of this treatment is pretty much here. I am going to stay on it for another 3 weeks, I think. That way I can get as close to my goal weight as possible before stopping. Proper nutrition and exercise should take me the rest of the way if I am within 10 pounds. Even if I’m not, I’m not to terribly worried about it since I have come an extraordinary way as far as the amount of weight I have lost and how well I did. I am planning on making a trip to Florida as my reward for all the weight I have lost. I figure I can take a week break and get a vacation. I even have the placed picked out! I’m thinking like Marco Island or Tampa. Both places are beautiful and it has been forever since I was last at either of them. I will keep you all updated on what I decide, but I will probably head out sometime in the beginning of July or late June. Take care all of you fellow weight losers!

Again, weight loss slowed, but that's OK.
Weight loss has once again slowed. I wasn’t expecting it to slow down again so soon, but I’m losing a little over half a pound a day once I average it all out. Not a bad weight loss by any means, but I’m so close to my target weight that I really want it to be over with now. I’ve finally started jogging every morning. Four months ago I never ever even considered doing something like that, but it’s been really great getting out and putting in a little bit mileage every morning before I start my work. I lost about 4 pounds since my last post and am down to about 182 lbs, if my memory and math serves me correctly. I also went into the weight loss center again today. It went well and they were encouraging despite the fact that my weight loss has slowed up a little.
Speaking of work, I have ended pulling my engine back up a little bit out of the Mustang because I decided to put in some better motor mounts. It makes for a little more vibration in the cab, but it is a really neat effect that I could get used to. I’m going to go ahead and drag a little, I’ve decided, so I figure I might as well get some better performance parts for the car.

Short, and to the point.
This is the last post in March and the last day of the month, too. I am down another 3 pounds on the scale, so I’m at a total of 65 pounds for the entire time I have lost weight. It’s not a bad weight diet at all, I decided as I fell asleep last night. Not that I ever thought that it was, I was just weighing the cons, such as low calorie diet, with pros like the faster weight loss. I have not been this thin in so long it’s incredible. By the way, the car has now finally been driven around town. Looks great! : ) I think that’s all for today. It’s the last day of the month, so I’ll keep it short…to the point.

Flat Weight Loss Instead of Fat Weight Loss--Better Days Coming, Though
Not a bad day at all. I’ve decided to go ahead and stick to the diet until I am down to my goal weight of 160, which is my ideal weight from what my physician tells me. Will I be able to do it? I do not actually quite know yet, but as it is I am pretty happy about where I am now that I am finally in the solid 100s range. A few more weeks and I am going to be looking really good. After today, I will also need to take a break for a few days while I work on a major sale. It’s pretty big, so my every spare moment will be making sure that it goes smoothly and without incident. If it does, I will post again in a couple days once it is all over.
Also, here’s a quick update on my weight loss situation. I’ve slowed down a bit on my weight loss and am only losing about a half pound (I went out and bought a better scale specifically so I could see exactly how much I was losing). I hear that most people usually reach a plateau and then lose weight steadily but slowly. I’ve not complaining at all, mind you, just saying what’s up. So far I lost a pound in the lost two days…

Losing a Ton, Gaining Some Torque
And what a wonderful Tuesday it is. I figure I will update your guys on the weight issue first, and then I will talk about a few more exciting things. First off, I’m down another 4 pounds. That’s not too bad in seven days, so I am just going to make sure that I keep drinking water, staying strict to the diet, and making sure that I am exercising consistently. I went in, once again, to the weight loss clinic and I am pretty happy with my results so far. I’ll save the details for later, but I’m going to be looking pretty good here in another month or so. :D It’s definitely exciting. Now to other news that is just as exciting as losing a ton of weight (that’s not literally a ton, mind you!). I got my engine in the 67 running this last week. That’s one of the reasons that I have been negligent of my blogging duties. However, the car sounds…oh so beautiful. I can’t wait to be driving in it in a few months when my weight is down even more than it is now.
This next week I will be putting in upgraded exhaust, distributor, and redoing some axle work. After that, I just need to start working on the interior and that will be the most time consuming work. There will probably be a few other systems and engine quarks to work on for the next 2-3 months, but my new/old toy will be almost ready to take to the drag strip and grab a 1/4 mile time. I’ll keep you updated.

Aerobics Get Bumped in Favor of Jogging
Five more days, and I am down another four pounds. I think the jogging may actually be helping a little bit—let’s hope so! I have a large transaction I am working through on eBay, so I haven’t been able to really keep up as much as I should on my aerobics exercises, but I am not too worried about it as long as I am going out and making sure I exercise once a day doing something else. For me that’s jogging about a half mile each day. Once I am back on a higher calorie diet I will go ahead and bump that up to something more like a mile a day or so. I also made the appointment to go into the weight loss center again next week. I need to make sure I am staying on track with the program. Hopefully if everything it going well I will be off the program in about another 6-7 weeks. That’s looking pretty optimistically, but optimism never hurt anyone, right? At any rate, I will continue to keep you guys updated, and if anyone has any suggestions at all for a good exercise routine please let me know. I appreciate any emails/comments I get and they are a huge encouragement. Take care guys.

And now nothing.... Ha!
It’s only been a day since my last post but I figure I might as well keep writing as long as I have time. With any luck I will be getting in some of the parts I will need for my 67 and will be working on that for a while over the weekend. We’ll see how it goes… I also went ahead and starting jogging today. I didn’t realize it was so much work, but no pain no gain, right? I jogged about a mile on and off, and I had to take two breaks for a few minutes, but I did it and it felt good after I was all done. The main thing that I really have to worry about is making sure that I don’t overdo it. I also weighed myself today, but it says I didn’t lose anything—probably because I drank water right after I jogged and I weighed myself right about then, too.
The supplements also seem to be working pretty good, so I am going to keep taking them. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like I have a little more energy when I take them, and I know they are replacing some of the things that I may be missing in my diet since I am on the lower calorie diet. So far so good, though. We’ll see how it goes.

Not bad: 4 for 5
What a week you guys. I’ve lost another 4 pounds in the last five days which is pretty good, but I’m beat. I’ve been working on the 67 almost every spare moment I have. It’s pretty fun work, but it’s also pretty hard. I ended up getting a new crate engine from the Crate Depot, I think. It’s a pretty sweet engine and by the time the car is done I plan to be pushing out well over 400 horses. The engine by itself is pretty good, but after I get it I plan on putting on some better heads and doing a custom cam. In the end it will help it perform a little better. Ha! And hopefully once my weight is down I will be running faster ¼ miles times, too.
Speaking of weight loss, I also went in to the clinic again today and had a check-in. It was pretty quick, and I ended up getting some supplements which are suppose to help when you start exercising more than you normally would. The aerobics exercises are great, and I want to keep doing them for the next few months. I also plan to start running in the next week or so, and I will keep you guys updated on how that goes.

Hello there…it’s been a while
First post in march and the last day of the week! I can finally take a deep breath and write again. This last week has been crazy hectic. I ended up rescheduling my clinic visit to this week because I wanted some extra time next week to make a few sales that I think might go through nicer if I were there to oversee them. It went well, and I am excited about the transition. I was also busy with every spare time this week working on something…a bit new. A buddy of mine offered me a 67 Camaro for $1200, so I ended up taking it. It needs a ton of work, but when it comes to fast cars and motorcycles, I’m quite a sucker. After looking it over (I work on cars a fair amount), I determined it needs a new fuel filter, water pump, back brakes (rusted real bad), and a good paint job among other more serious issues. I got most of the trivial things done this week in the evenings, and that meant slacking off on posting. In the 9 days I haven’t posted I lost 5 pounds. That brings me down to about 201 pounds, and that’s a record for me in about 5 years. I’m still doing my aerobics stuff, but now I jog instead of walk, and that should help me out a bit more. I will keep you updated on the car, but I think it’s going to be quite a project here.

Cruisin' n Ridin'
Took today off from work to go ride and enjoy myself a bit. The weather was great and I probably rode for over 6 hours down to Portland, around St. Helens, and back. The fresh air was nice, and I stopped to take a few pictures of the mountains while I was out. After the first 60 miles, I noticed my Softail Custom (Harley) wasn’t driving quite right, and it turned out to be a lose chain drive. I had some tools with me in the bags, but none that could really effectively tighten the chain without a lot of work. Luckily it was still OK to ride, and I just took it easy the rest of the way since the chain wasn’t coming off or anything. I felt a little guilty about missing my exercise routine for lunch, but I had a great time and I made sure not to stop at any stores for snacks, so I feel justified in making the trip. I am hoping to take a motorcycle trip later this spring and head up to Alaska for a few days. I would be a good ten day excursion, but I could use the break from work and time away from the house. It seems like all I’ve been doing the last few weeks is weight loss and work. I lost 2 pounds since my last blog, so I’m still doing good.

Fat is done...
I’ve been coming in pretty strong with this weight loss the last few days. I have really really been enjoying the aerobic tapes I got. I guess they were some crazy fad back in the 90s, but I never really paid much attention to them. That goes to show what happens when you don’t listen to these health nuts. You end up like me! But on a more serious note, I really have been enjoying the healthier feeling of staying active and getting moving. I’ve lost another 3-4 pounds over the last few days, but I think it is starting to slow up a little. I’m currently at about 211 pounds, so I have about another 35 to go if I want to look good like I used to. But either way, it’s just nice to know that there’s actually a diet out there that works and that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
I went into the weight loss clinic again, too. The appointment was pretty short, which was good since I had to get back to manage a few transactions! I like how they are always willing to work with your schedule, and it really helps when you are booked up for the day. They were pretty impressed with the weight loss, it seemed. Maybe it’s just me (which is probably is), but I think I’ve done pretty well on the diet so far. More soon guys…

Fat boot camp...
That’s right, I said it… I’m not only working hard on the hcg diet part of this whole weight loss thing, I am also working hard to make sure that the weight will stay off. I mentioned that I was going to “work out” in between my eBay working schedule. It’s a bit tricky, since some of my jobs require that I am monitoring an auction or bid when they end, but I’ve been timing them just right so I have two different dead spots throughout the day besides the morning. I was originally going to do some aerobic stuff over lunch, but I think I was getting a bit ahead of myself, and the strenuous workout really isn’t going so hot with the meal, so I bumped it back to the morning and now I take a midday walk before going back to work. In the evenings, I either hit balls on my lawn or go to the batting cage for baseball. I used to play in high school a lot, but I’ve lost my skill for the game and would probably look better at T-ball now. I’m not going to let that discourage me though. I also finally dropped to losing under a pound a day, so only 6 pounds for a week, but that’s okay with me as long as I am losing close to a pound a day. Chill Guys!

Don't get mad, get fit!
Had a great workout today. I spent 35 minutes on these martial arts/aerobic videos, walked for an hour, and then sat down to a healthy dinner that was exactly to the diet’s specifications. I weighed myself afterwards, and I had lost 4 pounds. Wow! And after a great last couple weeks, it is surprising to see such great weight loss still happening. Heck, it’s always great to see a good return on investment, but that’s just my business mind coming through.
Speaking of business, that’s one of the hardest things about this diet… I realize that if I don’t continue to be active, I will be in the same situation again within a short amount of time. Sitting in the computer is a great work-from-home job, but it doesn’t involve much getting up and running around. After my goal weight is once again attained, I am definitely going to aspire to healthier living habits! I haven’t given this a whole lot of thought, but the two biggest things I could do to improve my lifestyle is take away the munching foods from my office and make a resolution to do something active after every 3-4 hours working. Starting on Monday I plan to walk in the morning and eat breakfast, work for four hours, break for lunch and do half an hour of tie bo, work till dinner, then hit some balls at the range. I think this will work out well. Will debrief on Thursday. :D

Too much weight lifting!
Checked in at the weight loss clinic today. The chewing gum is still working, so I’m not complaining there. The one thing that did hit me (for the second time this week) was a hunger craving. It wasn’t very much, and as long as I am not exercising really hard I don’t seem to have a problem anyway. The difficult days are when I try to walk or ride my motorcycle for a long time without eating anything. The diet is pretty strict, so I just have to make sure I am sticking to it no matter what.
As far as the aerobics class I mention go, I decided not to do it until maybe later in the year, but I am doing some exercise/martial art videos called Tie Bo or Tae Bow (something like that). They really give quite a fantastic workout and really help you feel good afterwards. I reason that doing an exercise such as this 2-3 times per week will really help me get in shape, and that’s pretty important to me once I have lost all this weight. I also thought about weight lifting classes, but the way I see it, I’ve been lifting too much weight around already. Ha! I’ll keep feeding the updates, but I think this will be the best solution to my exercise problems. I lost 6 pounds since my last post here, so I must be doing something good.

Chewing the gum, not fat
Ha! I bought some chewing gum for people coming off smoking. It helps a bit, but I was worried initially that it would affect my weight loss. It doesn’t seem to be doing so yet, but I might talk to one of the physicians at the clinic and see if there could be a complication with that. At any rate, the smoking deal isn’t so bad now, so if I can keep this up I should be done with smoking permanently. Here’s the scoop on some other random stuff:
• I got a new bike today. I’ve been looking at another toy for a while, and I figured a Honda Shadow would be a sweet ride. They run so smooth, and it was a great purchase.
• I lost 6 pounds since my last post, which is very encouraging.
• I’m going into the weight loss clinic again next week for another check-in. I’ll ask them for any advice about the smoking then, too.
• I’m thinking of joining a weight training and aerobics class. The aerobics are actually pretty interesting, and they combine some jogging, high weight reps, and other stamina building workouts. It might really help keep up the weight loss, and would be worth it if that’s true.
And that’s pretty much it. I’ll write again next week, probably. Keep it cool everyone…

Cold Turkey...Anyone?
If there’s one thing that I’ve had a pretty big problem with, I would have to say it’s definitely been smoking. I usually quit, only to come back to it again. The funny thing is I never smoke heavily. Usually, it’s only 3-4 a day during breaks and before bed. I work at home for the most part, as I said before, so my productivity is gauged by how hard I work in front of the computer. That means I can’t afford to be smoking all the time. Well anyway, I had stopped for a couple years until last month, but I’ve decided that if I am going to lose weight, I can stomp out this smoking problem, too (no pun intended?). So basically I am going cold turkey and hoping that between the intermittent hunger cravings and smoking cravings I don’t have to start again… Any suggestions from the readers out there would be great. I’m open to anything. And with that, I’ll close with the update that I lost another pound since yesterday. That is a total of 18 pounds since I started. Dang, that’s good guys. I’m pretty jazzed about the whole deal, and I think the future holds more weeks like this.

Weigh-in went well...
The weigh-in at the clinic went great! I lost another 4 pounds, which is a little down from my 1 ¼ pound per day previously, but it’s not really that big of a deal as long as I am still losing close to a pound a day. I suppose after a while I won’t be losing quite this much, but it’s no concern of mine for now. I’ve lost 17 pounds so far in a matter of weeks, and that’s smokin’ fast. My buddy I mentioned last week is still pretty skeptical. I have a scale I am actually going to bring over to his house once I have lost about 30-40 pounds.
Also, here’s a brief update of the diet I am on:
The dosage is pretty simple; I just stick it under my tongue and am done. The diet follows a strict diet, which I think I mentioned before, but in general it allows you to eat enough that you don’t feel like you are starving all the time. It’s pretty low calorie, so lots of fresh foods are used. It really makes you feel better, and the only reason you’re really hungry is due to the low calorie intake. Overall, I’m doing good about two weeks into the diet.

Ha! Maybe I'll get a friend to join me.....
OK… 7 more days have passed and I’ve lost 8 more pounds. I went over to a business partner’s house a couple days ago, and he can’t believe it. Actually, he really doesn’t believe it. He thinks I’m totally joking around with him, but I know I’m not. He knew I’ve been struggling with weight for a while (he does as well and is 20 pounds heavier than me) but he doesn’t think I lost that much weight that fast. I’m definitely going to show him up a bit with this, though. I’m going to give him my blog URL after a couple weeks and maybe he’ll realize that I’ve actually lost some real weight. He’s been in this battle for even longer than I have, so it would be great to win him over to the “cool” weight loss side. :-] Anyway, I am going back into the clinic next week to get weighed in and have a follow-up visit, etc. I think they basically just give you some suggestions and see how you are doing on the diet, so nothing too big. Afterwards, I am going to head over to the gym where I work out a bit and see if I can’t keep up this crazy weight loss schedule up. If I play it right, I might have another 8 pounds down by this time next week.

It.................works?!
Wow…. Well, I have some good news and bad news. First off, it’s been about 4 days and I’ve lost about 5 pounds. I actually can’t believe that I have, so I’m in a bit of shock—bear with me. Let me explain how this works first. Apparently the HCG is a hormone that allows the body to burn only fat (not muscle) when in a low-calorie state. This is what allows pregnant women in such a situation to survive longer. By taking these drops twice a day, this state is induced in me and I lose fat, not muscle. It’s really fascinating, and although I am not sure I actually believe it, I am completely impressed. The drops are sublingual, so technically they diffuse through the mouth into the body where they work their “magic.” It’s phenomenal! I’m almost afraid to really believe it after so many years but heck, if it works I’m sold! I think my original doubts are a little unfounded, so I am going to see what happens and hopefully log what happens here. At the end of each post, I’ll put a “weight lost” counter. If this works like it is supposed to, I’ll be thinner in no time. I am going to set a goal out there of about 70 pounds. That will push me down to 180, and at 6’4”, that should be pretty awesome.

First visit not so bad...
This was my first visit to Seattle HCG. It went well and I was encouraged quite a bit by the staff. I’m a little skeptical about the chance of actually losing a lot of weight like I really want to. I’ve been trying to lose for years, and although I have heard some great stuff about these guys, I am not quite sure that the results I see are going to be my results, you know what I mean? Basically, I’m worried that I’ll be let down by something I am putting a lot of faith and a little bit of money into. Luckily, it’s not as expensive as Weight Watchers, which I can say without a doubt was an absolute failure at helping me lose weight. The meals were so small that I always grabbed a little extra snack, so I ended up keeping my weight about the same. After four months, I just quit. The food was (excuse me, please) crap and I really didn’t lose anything at all. Actually, it was more like a roller coaster where you eat really carefully because you feel guilty about the extra servings the week before, and after not seeing results, start the cycle over again. Anyone, just some of my own rants. If there are any other guys out there, you probably understand where I am coming from. In this society, it actually pays to look kinda good, and that’s not something I really see happening anytime soon. We’ll see. I’ll keep you updated, and it’s at least nice that Seattle HCG Diet Weight Loss Center is actually letting me blog about them and my experiences there. Cheers all!

New Resolution
Today’s my first day blogging on my New Year’s resolution. It is proverbially cliché, but completely appropriate for what I am about to do. I am hoping to lose 70 pounds on a relatively new dieting “FAD” that has been out for more than 40 years, if I remember correctly. It’s called hCG, and it stands for a bigger word than I could ever hope to figure out, but that is completely okay for now. I’m going to be going to a place called Seattle HCG Clinic. It’s off of 45th St. for those who know Seattle well enough. But maybe a little background on me, first.
I’m Nelson, a pretty much ordinary guy living an extraordinary life as an entrepreneur. Mainly, I do eBay buying and selling for a living which turns out a nice income. I weigh about 250, which is more than I am supposed to weigh, I suppose. Either way, my physician strongly advised I lose weight, and hCG was a solution I found that would involve the least amount of time and money involved. I think that’s enough for now. Take care everyone and stay tuned. . .
